that bear back-scratched for awhile before he got around to a shake and it was very cold and windy out! there’s a sense of luck and timing with the shot to be sure, but mostly, it’s great to see them in the Northern Canada (if you’ve not been, get there soon!). a video with commentary is up at my site naturalrealm.com. thank you again.hp

The wildlife pictures are beautiful and the wildlands Sunset. The problem I have is that the wildlands photo of the waves and the one with the waterfall,look like pictures of pictures. I have done pictures like that but would never enter them into a contest.
The other thing I would like to mention is there should be a contest for folks with plain cameras, that cant afford the higher priced cameras with telescopic lenses that can take such close up shots of the animals. To me and probably alot of folks, higher price is anything over $200. I take pretty good shots, with my sale priced digital, but most of mine couldnt compare to the ones in this contest. I like the shot of the little animal jumping off a cliff. It probably was one of the hardest shots to capture, considering it probably took a lot of climbing. Maybe it was taken by someone that was skiing?

ALL of the photographs are really Great, and the effort put forward by these photographers cannot be accurately measured.
Their contribution, however, can be measured, and it is Over Whelming.

Interestingly 3 of the 4 Wild Life photographs are of animals in a winter/snowy setting.

My favorite is the wave by Mark Johnson. Having grown up next to the ocean, I know how rare it is for a wave to break as beautifully as that, and for Mark to have caught this so perfectly and at such a rare moment, along with that glorious sunset and the rugged ridges on the shore… well, it’s absolutely magnificent and awe inspiring. Fantastic job!
