From Alaska to Arizona, Defenders is fighting to protect wolves and promote tolerance on multiple fronts. Whether upholding the Endangered Species Act in court or working directly with ranchers to prevent conflicts, we’re showing that it is possible for wolves, humans and other animals to coexist.
Wolves have been demonized and misunderstood for much of human history. We’ve addressed some of the more common myths in an attempt to clear the air, cultivate greater respect for these native animals, and increase awareness of the wolf’s proper place in the ecosystem.
That’s right folks, today begins Wolf Awareness Week 2010! Each day this week we’ll be sharing information about wolves to highlight the importance of protecting this imperiled animal.
